Avdelok Lockbolts
Lockbolts are two-piece fasteners consisting of a close-tolerance pin and a deformable collar. Installation is performed with a setting tool that draws the pin into the collar, plastically deforming the collar around the pin and creating a locked joint; the remaining portion of the pin is removed by shearing at a designed breakneck. This construction produces a consistent clamp load and a secure mechanical lock that does not rely on threading. These fasteners are used where repeatable joint integrity and resistance to loosening under vibration are important, including transportation, rail, heavy equipment, and general structural assemblies. They are available in a range of materials and finishes to suit load, corrosion, and environmental requirements. Selection considerations include pin diameter, grip range, hole tolerances, and shear strength appropriate to the application. Installation requires compatible setting tools and proper hole preparation; removal typically requires drilling or cutting. Lockbolts offer a controlled, permanent fastening method where serviceability and predictable performance are desired.
