Avdelok Lockbolt Collars & Tool | Steel
Steel lockbolt collars and accompanying installation tool provide a permanent blind-side fastening solution for joining metal panels and structural components where access is restricted to one side. The collars are formed from steel for structural durability and are designed to clamp tightly around a mandrel that is drawn through the joint during installation. The hand-held installation tool engages the mandrel, applies axial force to set the collar and compress the joint, and then shears the mandrel off at a controlled break point, leaving a flush or near-flush finish. This fastening method produces consistent clamp load and is suited to applications in fabrication, vehicle assembly, and general sheet-metal joining. Collars and tools are available in matching steel to ensure material compatibility; selection should be based on hole size, material thickness, and required joint characteristics. Replacement mandrels and maintenance parts for the tool are recommended to maintain consistent performance over time.
