"Pop" Blind Rivets
"Pop" blind rivets are one-piece fasteners designed to join two or more materials from one side when access to the rear is limited or impossible. They consist of a tubular body and a mandrel; when installed with a blind rivet tool, the mandrel is pulled, expanding the body to form a blind-side bulge that clamps the joint. Commonly available in aluminium, steel, and stainless steel, they are suitable for joining sheet metal, plastics, composites, and other panel materials. Installation is quick and repeatable, making them useful for assembly, maintenance, and repair in construction, automotive, HVAC, and general fabrication. They provide vibration-resistant joints and do not require tapped holes or nuts, but they are not intended for applications requiring frequent disassembly. Selection should consider material compatibility, grip range, and shear/tensile load requirements. Hand, pneumatic, and battery-powered installation tools are available to match production volumes and access conditions.
